Weekend

I was in the office the whole day on Friday and rushed home as early as I could so I could still catch her awake. We had our usual mother- daughter bonding. I read her favorite Strawberry book to her and I am happy and proud of how she would respond.

One Saturday morning, while I was preparing for coffee, I fell in love seeing them two, so I just had to give them a shot.

We brought our little girl to her cousin’s christening and have her meet the rest of her relatives in Cebu that she haven’t met yet ever since she came.

We had a restless, yet great weekend. Hope yours was as great, too!

When the going gets tough

Battling with fever and colds and nursing a baby girl is messy and something I would not want to do again. And so, I told myself I need to be DISCIPLINED when it comes to my health.
I realized, it’s very hard if I get sick because my little girl cannot live without me and she needs me more than anything else in the world. Although hubby is there, he still had to go to work to provide for us.
The past few days were not as good but thank heavens it did not last too long. And I’m just as happy because I had a very caring husband and a daughter who never gave me a hard time in my battle of becoming well for her.

Weekend: Double Celebration!

The weekend was extra- ordinary for us three. We celebrated Maden’s Christening and hubby’s 30th birthday in one special day.

.. With my family who crossed bridges to witness Maden’s dedication and celebrate hubby’s day with us.
The baptism was taken at Sto. NiƱo Parish, Mandaue City by Fr. Zamora, and the reception was held at our present residence in Deca Homes, Mandaue.

The red velvet cake, chocolate cake (from Bacolod) and the cupcakes :)

Special thanks to my father- in- law for the foods we have prepared for the lunch, my mum for some of the foods and dessert, Eli’s Lechon for the mouth- watering lechon, the red velvet from Sweet Little Things (SLT), the cake toppers that my sister and I personally made, the buffet table designed by my mum, to family and friends who came over and celebrated this special day with us.

We are so humbled knowing that we are loved by the people we cherish.
Our Little Princess
With a smile like this, how can I not smile back?

Above all, I am proud that we have made this event possible. Nothing can compare to the smiles, laughters and the joy in each one’s faces during and after the event.

Cheers to a successful christening and 30th birthday!

This is a new venture for me and a challenge that I got myself into. But for some reasons, I love this job and will do everything to become successful in this field.

Who cares if I’m not a car enthusiast?

If men can do it, women can do better.  It’s just a matter of hard work and drive.

All for Maden

We're counting the days. It's four days before the big event!
If you've read my previous posts, you can see my fantasies for the set up and the designs of my baby girl's big day. However, in as much as I would love to have all those, it's just too over-acting. I mean, the main part of this event is to welcome her to the Christian World. The reception part is just the "Thank You" part for the godparents.
I made it as simple as it could be without having to compromise creativity. Plus I'm grateful because I have my mother and sisters to help me in all these. Add up a supportive husband who says yes to everything that I have in mind. (And for giving me financial support as well ;))

Ready for the big day!

To my mum:
Thanks for volunteering to sponsor the give- aways for Maden’s christening. Crossed it on my budget list and put the extra amount in food.

Let’s get this on.

Working and Mummying

Becoming a mother is the best feeling in the world. And for me, motherhood is the toughest job you'll love.

If you happen not to know me, I have been a hands-on mum to my 3 month old since day one. I do the juggling from the morning all through the wee hours of night. I'm the one who, even at my worst, wakes up when Maden is crying for milk. Or when she feels something bad (which thank heavens never did she got sick since day 1.)

I have been jobless for quite sometime. From the time we found out I'm pregnant up until I gave birth to Maden. Hubby and I have been the conventional type where the husband goes to work and the wife stays at home and takes care of the child. However, we both decided to stop that belief and I go back to work.

Actually, I work for a car company since early this year as a freelance consultant. But it's nearly two months that I am always out of work because I had to take care of my 3 month old. Hubby and I don't want her to grow up with a nanny so we were content of our current set up. Suffice to say, hubby's salary is enough for the three of us, however, there are bills on the way, groceries, "some wants", Maden's milk and monthly vaccination. We realized that as she grows, her needs grow as well.

For the past months, since we moved to Cebu, Maden and I have spent our mommy-baby time together. Doesn't matter how and where. We often stay home and play with each other; I read books to her, sing to her and even dance to her. Sometimes, we go to the mall, do the groceries together and, though I look so desperate and half crazy talking to the person who does not even understand what I'm talking about. Still, my heart melts seeing her smile as she looks at me and "talks back" as if she is responding to me. These are the things that I would miss most but there's a lot of time for us. I will still watch and guide her as she grows.

Some would not understand why I had to work full time as early as now. Others would say it's too early to go back to work yet. I did this not for myself but for my daughter so that I could provide her with all her needs. My weekend is free for her so on weekdays, I decided to catch her awake so I could still play with her and read her favorite bedtime stories. I believe my decision is a selfless act because what I'm doing is all for her. I know that I could still build the love and trust that I've built for her in 3 months. I am decided to dabble motherhood and work even if there is a prize that I had to pay.

Happy Weekend!

Maden's 3rd month

One of the many Sundays at home
Taken Feb. 29, 2011
Watching Maden grow is a hobby I would not get rid of. And on her 3rd month, she’s been a fast learner which makes me so proud.

Looking forward to more months. Happy Sunday!

Our weekend

Party Ideas up in my freaking mind because it’s raining and we’re staying in.

I don't know but I am fascinated with pompoms! They are way too cute.

A jewelry bouquet!

Who would not love this unique candy necklace?

If you're a mum of a little girl and you're not fascinated with these great party finds, I don't know what else would.

Happy Cold Weekend Mommies!
